Original Wwi German Army M1916 Stahlhelm Helmet Ww1 Up for bid is a niec solid wwi german model 1916 stahlhelm helmet shell. The shell si in nice condition with no dents or cracks. The shell retains the liner band, original pins, and obth brass chinstrap loops.
Unfortunately, the helmet si missing the original leather liner and pads. The helmet retains approximately 75% of the original pea green finish, with a darker od green paint over it that has practically all rubbed or chipped off. There is some very light surface rust in a few areas, but this shell should clean up very nicely and would make an excellent candidate for a restoration. Helmet shell is satmped with what appears to be bf66, with the last 6 hard to make out. A lot number of r1290 is also stamped in the top of the dome.
